Recommended Server Hardware#

This hardware has been tested and is known to work well as a USB/IP agent server.

If you choose this hardware then a pre-configured Raspberry Pi agent image is available to download, see the Commissioning a new Raspberry Pi as an Agent Server.

Raspberry Pi 5 8GB RAM#

Raspberry Pi 4 is also suitable. 2GB RAM models have been confirmed to work fine.

Raspberry Pi 5

MicroSD Card 16GB#

e.g. SanDisk Ultra 16GB or larger.

SanDisk Ultra

High Quality Passively Cooled Case#

e.g. Geekworm Raspberry Pi 5 Case (P573)

Power Supply#

Raspberry Pi Pico with Pico OLED 1.3” Display#

This is used for easily extracting the MAC address of the Raspberry Pi during commissioning, without needing to connect a monitor or keyboard.

Alternative Power Supply#

If you plan on running multiple Pis, a modern GaN USB-C Power Delivery supply with multiple ports is a good alternative. Make sure it can provide at least 5A at 5V per Pi.

e.g. Ugreen Nexode 200W
